Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a surgical operation that aims to correct or change nose structure. This alteration of the nasal skeleton – bone and cartilage structures of the nose – makes the nose more compatible with other facial structures.

The nose is what we first notice in a person's face, and changing it can create a whole new face. It will even change how a person is perceived by others.

With rhinoplasty, one can make a nose smaller, lower or augment the nasal bridge, and lift, lower or refine the tip of the nose.

Our goal in aesthetic rhinoplasty is to obtain beautiful, natural-looking noses where an operation is virtually unnoticeable, not snub or excessively small noses with prominent nostrils. The ideal angle between the lower border of the nose and the upper lip is 95-100 degrees for women, and 90-95 degrees in men. The nose should look like a natural part of the face after a successful operation.

In short, a well-done aesthetic rhinoplasty will result in a natural look without any sign of surgery.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Before the surgery, patients are examined in our clinic. The structure of the nose is evaluated. Whether there is a problem that may cause breathing problems in the nose or whether there is an obstacle to the surgery is evaluated by endoscopic examination (with camera). Portrait photographs of our patient are taken from 7 different angles. The other structures of the nose and face are examined through these photographs. With the patient, a nose suitable with the face is designed on the simulation software. Rhinoplasty surgery takes about 2-4 hours. It is a surgery performed under general anesthesia. Patients can be discharged 6-8 hours after the surgery or one day after the surgery. A splint is placed on the nose for a period of one week. The splint is removed a week later. You can return to daily life a week later. We don't place packings in the nose, we prefer packings with holes in the middle, called silicone, through which our patients can breathe. We usually remove these four days after the surgery.
The postoperative recovery period may vary depending on the technique used in the surgery, the type of intervention, and the personal characteristics of the patient. The average recovery time after rhinoplasty ranges from 7 to 10 days. Many patients can easily return to work or school in a short time like a week.
You can have surgery in any season. We recommend to use a sunscreen with a high SPF (sun protection factor) for those who have the surgery in warmer seasons. We recommend not to wear sunglasses for up to three months.
Anyone who has completed the growth and development can undergo rhinoplasty, regardless of gender. The recommended age is after 16 years of age for women and 17 years of age for men.
With our current methods and careful follow-up by our experienced team, almost no pain arises in our patients after the surgery.
It ranges from 2 to 4 hours on average.
We perform the surgeries under general anesthesia, in other words you will be completely asleep.
You can return to daily activities within 2-3 days after the surgery. It may take an average of 1 month for the nose to gain its normal functions. It takes approximately 1 year for the nose to completely take its final shape
Thanks to the ultrasonic system and micromotor system that we use in our surgeries, a little swelling and bruising occur due to the controlled shapes we create in the bones.
No scar forms on the nose after the closed surgery, while a scar of 2-3 mm forms in the invisible area of the nasal septum after the open technique, which completely recovers in 2-3 months. Then, no scar is left.
No cigarette or alcohol should be used before and after the surgery, or the use should be considerably limited after the surgery.
